Simpaisa is hiring for an Assistant Manager Taxation based in Karachi. The Assistant Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing various tax-related activities, including tax planning, compliance, preparation, and ensuring adherence to tax lawsJob ResponsibilitiesSupporting the development of tax strategies.Monitoring regulatory changes, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and ensuring timely and accurate tax filings.Manage timely filing of Income Tax, Sales Tax, Withholding Tax, SST, and all statutory returns.Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual tax computations, including deferred tax.Oversee withholding tax deductions, deposits, and certificate issuance.Handle tax assessments, audits, notices, appeals, and coordination with tax authorities (FBR, SRB, PRA, etc.).Conduct tax analysis for new business initiatives and review contracts for tax compliance.Maintain complete tax documentation and support internal/external audits.Monitor changes in tax laws and advise management accordingly.Prepare periodic tax reports and identify tax planning opportunities.Collaborate with internal teams and external consultants; ensure proper tax accounting in ERP systems.The role also involves providing advisory support and staying updated on developments in local and international tax laws.Qualification RequiredBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field; (ACCA/CA/ICMA)35 years experience in taxation; exposure to multinational or group setups preferred.Skills RequiredProficiency in Tax Compliance and ensuring adherence to local and international tax regulationsExperience in Tax Preparation and accurate documentation of tax returns and filingsStrong expertise in Tax Planning and the ability to develop effective strategies to minimize tax liabilitiesSolid understanding of Tax Laws and regulatory requirementsKeen analytical skills and the ability to provide tax advisory servicesDetail-oriented with effective organizational and time management skills
